Well-Preserved: Recipes and Techniques for Putting Up Small Batches of Seasonal Foods

I have never canned but have accumulated quite a number of books about canning. Maybe this will be the year? This particular book is interesting because it is a combination of canning directions/recipes and recipes that use the items after they were canned. Now I just need to get some equipment and the nerve to can.

I love that idea! When I originally started my blog, I envisioned it might work that way - with ingredients either fresh or preserved that I'd grown. Nothing like that at all now, but I love the idea.

And I swear, canning / preserving is easy, just a little tedious. Go for it!

I'm still canning-timid. You'll have to let us know how it goes.

I need to start canning, too. Now that I have a little time to do that, why not?

Sounds like your getting closer!! I canned once with a friend's mom. We canned bread and butter pickles. I remember it being hot. Maybe I'll get up the nerve to try again as an adult!
