Remember Jell-O 123? It seemed like magic, one uniform mixture seperated into 3 distinct layers during refrigeration. It was introduced in 1969, then pulled off the shelves and then it was back until the mid '90s when it was disconinued again. In Jell-O, A Biography, Carolyn Wyman included this recipe to make your own at home.
Ingredients:
3/4 cup boiling water
1/2 cup cold water with enough ice cubes added to equal 1 1/4 cups
1/2 cup whipped cream
3 oz package any flavor Jell-O
Directions:
In a blender, mix together the gelatin and the boiling water. Add the ice cube/water mixture and mix until the ice cubes are melted. Mix in the whipped cream for 30 seconds. Pour into dessert glasses. Refrigerate 30 minutes. Serve.

Oh my gosh, I remember Jello 1-2-3! It seems like it was around for such a short period of time when I was a kid (early 90's, I guess) that sometimes I thought I was imagining that it had ever existed- ha ha!
Now... I wonder if I can veganize this recipe...
I remember Jello 1-2-3! Yours is so pretty.
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! This is my most missed discontinued food item!
I made this last night for my wife who loved it as a kid.... Mine turned out with just the top two layers. Any idea what I did wrong? My wife loved it anyway!
Should I confess that I remember this from its original launch? (Well, I WAS little.) I loved it, and associate it with summer at the beach house.
made this all the time except i used melted icecream instead of whipped topping
I missed this so much I ate this stuff I know everyday as a kid now that Ive found this thing Called Jello 123 that I thought was lost Forever,Its like finding an old friend "now I fell like cring" HA HA Not that serious but I am glad I found it.
um i tried to make it. but only the top two layers are forming. do you know why?
Has it fully set up? It takes a while. Beyond that I don't know-I didn't create the recipe but it worked when I made it.
This is amazing. I just made Jello 1-2-3. I haven't had this in 30 years, easy. My kids have never even heard of this. Thank you!
I made it today, and only two layers formed. I've notice a couple of other people who said the same. For those of you who said it worked, how long did you let it set?
Like I said, this isn't my recipe, it is from the book so I have no idea what might have went wrong. I followed the instructions exactly (time, ingredients etc) and it was fine.
Foam, Sauce, and Jelly-Jammy. What a great memory!
I was just talking about this great desert and decided to try to make it and found this blog.
THANK YOU SO MUCH!!!!!!!!!
